Obituary for Sterling Carl Johansen

Johansen, Sterling Carl –
Peacefully, at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener, on Sunday May 15, 2016, born in Govin Saskatchewan, formerly of Northumberland St. Ayr, in his 87th year.
Carl was very active with the Canadian Blood Services in the Waterloo Region, he belonged to several Masonic Bodies including Ayr Masonic Lodge No.172 AF & AM, Meeting Waters Eastern Star # 173, and the Royal Arch. He assisted North Dumfries Township belonging to the Minor Variance Committee.
Beloved husband to the late Nancy (nee Smith-2012); loved father to Pat Burt (Tim) & Tracy Curzon (Bryan); cherished Baba to Megan, Jordan, Logan and Rachael. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Carl was the last surviving member of his family. Predeceased by his brother George (Wyn) and a sister Kay Trussler (Cliff).
Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 183 Northumberland St. Ayr on Thursday May 19, from 12-2:00 PM. A Memorial Service to Celebrate Carl’s life will following in the funeral home chapel at 2:00PM. Interment Ayr Cemetery.
A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday May 18, 2016 at 7:00 PM under the auspices of Ayr Lodge No. 172.
