ZIMMERMANN, Ewald
Suddenly at home, on Friday November 17, 2017 of Kitchener in his 93rd year.
Beloved husband to the late Elisabeth (2005); much loved father to the late Bill (2013) "Koni" (Sandy), Helga Hallman (Kevin), and Glenn (Loree); cherished Opa to Mike, Darrell, Brenda, Billy, Alanna, Bradley, Trevor, and Alissa; and great grandfather to Daniel, Jesse, and Rebecca.
An engineer, chemist and master carpenter by trade, he made many of his own tools and machinery including his own family’s furniture. His love of the outdoors led him to design and build many boats to take on his yearly family camping trips. Some of his hobbies included electronics, television repair and photo finishing. He loved to read technical and scientific books.
Cremation has taken place. A family graveside service will be held at Williamsburg Cemetery on Friday November 24, 2017.
Because of his love for animals and nature, donations to the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
