Obituary for Amelia "Emily" McArthur (Vettese)

Amelia McArthur 1930 - 2020
The family of Amelia (Emily) McArthur announce that she is “absent from the body and present with the Lord” 2 Cor 5:8 Saved by the grace of God at the tender age of 88 and born again into the family of God, by acknowledging before God, that the Lord Jesus went to the cross and paid the penalty for her sins. She is now free from her body of suffering and safely home with her Saviour. Predeceased by her husband Herbert McArthur, daughter Lisa McArthur and son Gregory McArthur. Survived by her daughters Dayle Hayhoe (Paul) and Laura McArthur (Larry Epworth). Nonna leaves behind her much-loved grandchildren Kourtney Rivers (Geoff), Mychal-Ann Hayhoe (Matthew Pym) and Jeremy Hayhoe. And the “apples of her eye”, her great grandchildren Mackenzie, Eddie and Emma. Born May 27th, 1930 to Ernesto and Cristina Vettese (nee Venditelli) in Toronto, Ontario. She was predeceased by her siblings Mary McNamara (Frank), Silvio/Lou Vettese (Dorothy), Mafalda Smith (Stan) and Gary Vettese (Karin) Hers was a life full of turmoil and sorrows but in the end the Lord gave her His great peace. She loved living in Ayr and was blessed with wonderful Walter Street neighbours. The family wish to thank Dr. Elaine Parker for her amazing patience, kindness and wonderful care, and nurse Kelly for her warm and caring heart. As per Amelia’s instructions cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations to Key Bible Clubs would be appreciated.
