Obituary for Christopher Carman "Chris" Leich

Christopher Carman Leich
Of New Hamburg and formerly of Ayr passed away suddenly at home on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the age of 64 years.
Cherished husband to Cary Murray; Loving father to Lisa Rolt (Tony), Courtney Leich (Kora) and Breanne Leich. Proud Papa to his 7 grandchildren Mackenzie, Kaiden and Kaiya, Arianna, Avery, Alexa and Adalynn. Sadly missed by his sisters Winnifred Marshall (Howard), Winona Klettky (late Husband Harold) and Barbara Jefferson (Gordon), as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Audrey Leach (nee Chambers) as well as his brother Gordie Leach who died in infancy.

Chris grew up in the village of Ayr, where he met and built a life with his wife Cary, over the past 38 years. Chris started his career as an Accountant at Arrow Shirts (Cluett Peabody Canada Inc) in Kitchener Ontario when he was 23, until it’s closure in March of 2001. Prior to his passing, Chris worked with BenLea Leasing Ltd. In Cambridge, Ontario for the past several years.

Chris enjoyed his life with Cary, his three daughters, his grandchildren, family, and close friends. He enjoyed spending time in nature, and had a great appreciation for birds and all living things. He also enjoyed tending to his gardens during the summer months and took great pride in his work.

To our dad whom is terribly missed and loved;

If I could write a story, it would be the greatest ever told;
Of a kind and loving Father who had a heart of gold.
I could write a million pages, but still be unable to say;
Just how much We Love and miss him every single day.
We will remember all he taught us.
I'm hurt but won't be sad, because he’ll send me down the answers,
and he’ll always be our Dad.
I can’t believe I'm standing here saying my Goodbyes,
to a Father that meant the world to us, our father, our safe place.
Anyone who loved him will know how we feel today.
Our father was the rock of our lives, who could light up the darkest days.
So goodbye Father, our only father, take your wings and fly.
To eternal happiness and your reward, through the big gates in the sky.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Chris’ life will take place at a future date.
