I curled against Darcy for many years in juniors, and eventually was taken under his wing for his final year of juniors. Throughout this season, and even in the off (season), Darcy was like a big brother to me, showing me the ways of the game, the farm, and having fun (chasing girls). That was my most successful curling season as a junior, and ever since whenever I have played at Ayr CC or ran into people he knew, I was proud to say I was a member of his team. In recent years, Darcy was always a fierce competitor, qualifying for many events and provincial championships. Yet, he always was friendly and a gentleman, on and off the ice; always a pleasure to play against, no matter the outcome. We last chatted before a major league game in the fall, and I was looking forward to more catching up this coming season. Darcy, you will be missed by all in the curling community both local and abroad. It was a pleasure being out there with you, no matter what side I was on.
