Obituary for David Alexander Kelman

David A Kelman of Paris Ontario, in his 83rd year, beloved husband of Marie Kelman (Nicol), passed away peacefully in his sleep October 8th, 2020. Much loved father to Patricia Busby (Bill) and Allan Kelman (Martine). Proud grandfather to David and Amanda Busby (Alex Boyd) and Matthew and Lauren Kelman. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Brother-in-law to Marjorie Etherington (Larry) and Marilyn (Bill) Croome.
Predeceased by brother Nelson Kelman (Margaret) and sisters Barb McRuer (Gordon) and Carolyn Kelman.
From the one room McPherson School to a professional chartered accountant and one-time president of the Ontario Clerks & Treasurers of Ontario.
From the Paris District High School track team and his high school sweetheart, Marie (married 60 years) to the proud patriarch of his ‘million-dollar family’.
From the office ‘boy’ at Millards to the Chief Administrative Officer of Brantford Township.
From a country farmhouse to a starter home on Dryden St to a family home on Admiral Rd, to a custom-designed home in Scenic Park Estates to a retirement bungalow on Bradbury St and to an apartment at Telfer Place.
From the Glen Morris United Church to the family at Fairview United, Brantford.
From the small-time life of South Dumfries in Southern Ontario to travels across Canada, the US Midwest, California, Florida, Hawaii and Alaska and the heartland of Europe.
From a part time cattle herdsman to the Scenic Park Estates residential developer.
From the all-night financial audit team of accountants golfing at the ‘original’ Paris Golf Course to developing the driving range Wedges ‘N Woods Golf Academy that is into its 27th year.
David has led a full life and enjoyed a wide range of experiences with a wide and varied circle of friends and acquaintances.
He will be missed.
A private family service will be held at Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, Paris. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the MS Society or ALS would be appreciated.
