Unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, March 11, 2015; John Dickson Attlebery of Paris at the age of 79; loved husband to Marcy (nee Lavoie) for 56 years; dear father of Andy (Crystal) and Ted (Marguerite) ; brother of Ed Attlebery (Carol Ann); grandfather of Baxter, John, Quinn and Brooke; brother-in-law and golfing partner Mike Lavoie (Sue); uncle of Jennifer Oviedo, Eric Attlebery, Denise Pelton and Pat Lavoie and families; and son of the late Ena (nee Malcolm) and Wilfrid Attlebery. Teaching was his true calling which he never took for granted. He taught at Herman E. Fawcett Secondary School in Brantford and at elementary schools in London. He was a lifelong athletic and tireless coach for many Paris teams in Little League, softball and hockey. Friends will be received at the Wm. KIPP FUNERAL HOME, 184 Grand River Street North, Paris on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where funeral service will be held on Monday March 16 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Dick’s memory may be made to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or Branch 29 Legion Building Fund.
