Condolence: To the Attlebery family: my deepest condolences with the passing of Dick, We all meet many people along the journey of our lives but Dick (the coach, the story teller, the preacher, & funniest guy in the room) is one I will not forget personally. When I heard the news I was in shock as I sat with him last summer at the annual Emerson Open Golf Event in Paris, sat beside him and had a great dinner and laugh together and as usual he was never short for words all night. I was saddened immediately when I heard the news, however within 10 minutes after the sorrow, I had a BIG smile on my face about Dick as he was one of a kind, touched so many people along the way and left his mark with all of us which is what it is really about. Well Done Dick RIP. Mark

Condolence: My Heartfelt Condolences go out to all family and friends of Mr Dick Attlebery. Having the privilege of not only being coached but knowing this man and his family my entire life is my honor. As a parent and coach now in my late 40's I understand the lessons we teach within the game are more importantly carried forward in life. What I took from Mr Attlebery was that no matter what is going on in the game there was always time for a smile, a laugh, a joke, time to enjoy life, and that after game meant more than the game!. The man may have left us, but his life lessons will live forever!. One of my fondest sporting memories was playing in a fastball tournament in my early 20's and we were in a game we were not suppose to win. Down by a couple in the bottom of the last inning with a couple of runners on and 2 out I came to the plate and looked down at Mr Attlebery for the signals. With his hands rubbing together so fast they could start a fire he smiled at me and pointed over the left field fence. With the count 3 balls and 2 strikes and one lucky swing of the bat, the ball was destined to the exact spot Mr Attlebery pointed to. Celebrating with life long friends like Duane Ayres, Chris Hall and the rest of the gang I was just glad in that moment not to let Mr Attlebery down as we all loved him just as much as i believe he loved us. R.I.P. Mr Attlebery my Parents will be happy to see you! Terry

Condolence: Marcy, Andy, Ted, Ed and families: I am extremely sad to hear about Dick’s sudden passing. I have often thought about how lucky I was to grow up in Paris and the mentoring I received from men like Dick. I have many fond memories of Dick as my coach, a colleague on the Little League executive and later in life as a friend sharing beers and listening to his stories. If there was ever a life that warrants celebration it is Dick’s. Sadly I am unable to be with you to share the remembrances of his accomplishments, generosity, loyalty, zest for life and his many “escapades”. I like to think that he will be with you over the next few days, looking in and wringing his hands together like he did when he was happy or sharing another great story, and soaking up his life and legacy. Thank you for making it easy for him to have shared so much of himself with so many of us.

Condolence From: John Fair
Condolence: To the Extended Attleberry Clan, First off, let me extend my deepest condolences on the loss of your husband, father, brother, uncle ... Dick's service to his community (which included coaching me in Little League) was only surpassed in my mind by the quality of his person. He was a great friend to both my parents and I personally was always entertained by his great sense of wit and comedic timing. Thank you for including my dad in his obituary, he would have been touched. If I was not out of the country next week, I would have made a special point to help honour him by attending his funeral. Deepest Regards, John Fair
