Dear Alma, Jenny, Naomi, Keith
Both Cary & My self were saddened to hear of the passing of Don, we both have many memories of growing up with the page family right next door. Don was always generous with his time and kindness to others. Never too busy to say hello.

Good Morning Naomi & Alma,

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of our Golf Fore Life friend. Don was a wonderful man who brought laughter, joy and amazing golf talent to our program. His love for the game of golf shined so bright when he was strolling down the fairways with his friends. We will miss him dearly.

Thinking of you all during this difficult time, you are in our thoughts and prayers! I will be sure to notify the Golf Fore Life participants tomorrow and take time to reflect during social hour on our beautiful memories of Don.

Take care,

Hello Naomi,

We are just so sad to hear the news of your Dad. It was a truly, a pleasure and honor being able to spend so much time with him this past year golfing, singing, laughing and hearing all of his great stories. He was a wonderful man, who will be missed dearly by the golf fore life group.

We will be thinking about you, your mom and entire family. I have attached a link to some amazing photos of your Dad golfing.

He will always be in our hearts and memories.

Dear Naomi & Family:

I am so saddened to hear of your dad’s passing.
Please pass my condolences onto your mom Alma, sister and rest of the family.
Thank you for making me aware. I am both heartbroken and thankful.

It was my honour to have been able to get to know and share time with your dad this past Summer and Fall. He was an exceptional golfer with the sweetest swing!
I was fortunate to be able to share many golf mornings caddying for your dad.
Don and I had some very special and fun filled golf cart rides together, as he sang his heart out with songs from his past (and mine). You dad even taught me a few new verses to some of my childhood songs! Your dad brought music to the fairways! I can still see him splayed out on the golf cart, legs outstretched and arms resting cross chest, taking his break just waiting and watching the others, humming another tune.

Your dad had a wonderful spirit and a great sense of humour, that he sometimes let us enjoy too.
He talked fondly of you and your mom and the family. He was always expressing his appreciation for how wonderful people were to him. He seemed to have a comfortable way about himself. I remember a few times, during the program’s “after golf refreshment time”, as golfers shared stories and expressed opinions about a topic, your dad often smiled broadly listening to the conversations. He once said to me in a nonchalant fashion, “People are just out enjoying people.” I agreed that that was a great takeaway.

Your dad brought a special joy to our golf mornings.
Thank you for bringing him out to our Golf-Fore-Life program!
May he rest in peace and may he still be singing away.

Warmest Regards,
(From the 2018 Golf-Fore-Life staff team)

Condolences to the Page family. Always enjoyed Don at the rinks, and when our paths crossed in town. Always chatted about sports, local and beyond. Will miss those meetings.
