Life Story for Doris Ethel Holmes (Chittenden)

HOLMES, Doris Ethel (nee Chittenden) - Peacefully, after a lengthy illness with Alzheimers at Versa Care, Brantford, on Tuesday July 25, 2006, at the age of 91 years.
Beloved wife of the late Jim Holmes (1990); cherished mother of Penny and her husband Bob Morgan of Paris, Peter and his wife Judy of Richwood, and Paula and her husband Bob Malott of Stratford; proud grandmother Suzanne and her husband Chuck Langlois, Michael Holmes and his wife Melanie, Melissa and her husband Jason Generoux, Heather and her husband Mike Yanke, Allison and her husband Mike Fazekas, Andrea and her husband Ritchard Quast, Blair Morgan and his friend Genny, and Brian Morgan and his friend Kendra; and 20 great grandchildren. Doris spent her youth in Paris where her parents Harold and Zillah (Rowe) Chittenden owned Chittendens Bakery. Later she and her husband owned Jim's Lunch in Princeton for many years. Doris was the last surviving member of 'the Chittenden Girls'; having been predeceased by sisters Connie, Ruth and Marion. We will always cherish her memory.
Cremation has taken place, a family graveside service will be held at Paris Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society, ALS, or Camp Trillium would be appreciated and arranged by contacting Wm. Kipp Funeral Home.
