Obituary for Edna Isabel Pipe

PIPE – Edna (nee Racknor)
Peacefully, at Park Lane Terrace, Paris on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 in her 95th year.
Beloved wife of the late Elston Pipe (2004). Predeceased by parents, Rupert and Isabelle Racknor. She is survived by cousins.
Edna was proud of her early education at Canning School followed by attendance at Paris District High School. She loved music and enthusiastically sang in choirs in her church and community.
Edna grew up working on her family farm. Whether it was at one end of a cross-cut saw, driving a team or milking a cow, she loved every aspect of farming. After marrying Elston, she continued to farm until they retired to Paris in 1990.
Friends, neighbours and community were what Edna valued most. Along with Elston, they volunteered and worked with many groups in the community including the Drumbo Agricultural Society and Richwood United Church. Whatever she did, Edna did it with enthusiasm and a smile. Edna was a kind lady, forward thinking and always willing to do her part.
A private interment was held in Ayr Cemetery. A Celebration of Edna’s Life will be held as soon as social gathering restrictions are lifted with a date to be advised.
Donation in Edna’s memory can be made to the Richwood United Church or the Drumbo Agricultural Society with grateful appreciation.
