Obituary for Elizabeth Anne Rehder (Higgins)
Elizabeth Anne Rehder (nee Higgins) passed peacefully at AgeCare Brant, Burlington, Ontario, on December 20, 2023, at the age of 82 years. Cherished wife of the late James Rehder, loving mother to son Christopher (Debra) and to daughter Susan (Carl Clarke). Grandmother to Cassaundra Olszowka (Nick), and great-grandmother to their daughter, Olivia. Grandmother also to Katrina Demaline (Nick Cowen), and great-grandmother to their sons Nathan and James. Predeceased by her parents Thomas Higgins and Kathleen (nee Wilson) as well as by her sisters Patricia Winter, Kathleen Freeborn, and Linda Cochrane.
Born in Paris, Ontario, Liz spent the bulk of her working years as an RNA at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington. Her favourite pastime – along with Jim, her husband of 54 years – was spending time in Long Point on Lake Erie. She will be remembered for her wit, wisdom, and caring heart. Cremation has taken place and, as per her wishes, there will be no service.
Donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Ontario would be greatly appreciated.
