Sowden, Elspeth (nee Brown) –
Peacefully, At Park Lane Terrace, Paris, on Saturday December 13, 2014, formerly of German School Rd, Paris, in her 92nd year.
Elspeth was a 30 year volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society, she was very active with the Paris Lioness Club. Elspeth was a bit of pioneer as the first female clerk to work in a Drug Store in Paris.
Beloved wife of 67 years to Art; loved mom to Margie Newstead (Larry), Ernie (Brenda), Lyle (Christa), Erle (April) and Jim; cherished grandma to many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; dear sister to Mary Dicken and Cathy Murphy (Norm) and sister in law to Lois Brown, Dorothy Brown, Peggy Brown and Ab Gignac. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Robert and Bessie Brown; brothers; Jack Brown, Harvey Brown, Robert F. Brown; sister, Margaret Gignac and brother in law, Craig Sowden.
Friends may call at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11AM with Rev. Dr. Barbara Fullerton of St. Paul’s United Church officiating. Interment Paris Cemetery.
