Sowden, Ernest Leslie “Ernie”–
Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at home, on Thursday December 28, 2023, a lifelong resident of Paris, in his 72nd year.
Ernie was a long-time employee of Tigercat. He enjoyed spending countless hours “tinkering” in his barn. He was a great “hobby farmer” but his greatest pleasure was his grandchildren.”
Beloved husband to Brenda (nee Birley) and the late Barbara (1995); loved dad to Michelle, Ken Coombs, Danny, Kyle Coombs, David (Alisha), Tara Razavet (Scott), Brandi Durham (Dave) and Courtney Staples (Greg); cherished Poppie to several grandchildren and great grandchildren; Dear brother to Margie Newstead (Larry), Lyle (Christa), Erle (April) and Jim (Colleen). Also survived by many inlaws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Art and Elspeth Sowden.
Please join us in celebrating Ernie at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris on Tuesday January 2, 2024 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be followed in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Plaid shirts and blue jeans are welcome. Cremation followed by interment Paris Cemetery.
