Obituary for Gwendolyn Anne Bard (Ray)

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Anne (Ray) Bard - 02 Nov 1938 - 06 Jun 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, at her residence in Paris, Ontario.
Gwen was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles “Chuck” Cooper Bard in 2017.
She will be missed immensely by her children; Brian (Maggie) Bard of Guelph, Terry (Eleanor) Bard of Rockton and Andy (Marcy Tennier) Bard of Paris. Gwen was predeceased by her daughter-in-law “Jeni” Jennifer (Monteith) Bard in 2015. Gwen leaves behind grandchildren Ali (Harry) Kainth, Melanie (Brody) Arndt, Kati (Dylan) Bard, Jessica (Daniel) Bard and Brendan Bard, and great grandchildren Madison and Easton Kainth.
Fondly remembered by siblings, Gerri (Paul) Sterritt of Caledon and Larry Ray of Cambridge.
Predeceased by her mother, Dorothy “Dora” (Cordock) Riddell 1984, stepfather William “Bruce” Riddell 2011, and her father James Wardlaw “Ward” Ray in 1991.
Mom loved art, music, movies, her gardens and dogs. Gwen and Chuck spent many happy hours working alongside some terrific people in the creation of the Aberfoyle Model Railway, now known as St. Jacobs and Aberfoyle Model Railway.
As per Gwen’s wishes, there will be no funeral, only a family internment at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to “St. Jacobs and Aberfoyle Model Railway” in St. Jacobs, Ontario.
