Obituary for Helen Marion Curtiss (Hope)
HELEN MARION (HOPE) CURTISS
It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Helen in her 94th year at the Brantford General Hospital on July 27, 2023.
Predeceased by her loving husband Norm (1995); her parents Jessie (Roy) and Everett Hope; and, her brother, Russell Hope.
Cherished mother of Jayne (Ralph), Sandy (Chris), and Nancy (Wayne). Grandmother of Lisa (Gregg), Kyle (Alex), Curt, Katie (Alex) and Andrew. Helen has been blessed with seven great grandchildren.
Helen arrived in Paris with her family in 1933 and at that time became a long-time member of the Paris Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed many good times at the Paris Curling Club as well as being surrounded by a very wide and fun-loving special group of friends.
Helen and her family wish to thank all of the staff on the Palliative Care unit at the Brantford General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care over the past several weeks as well as to staff and friends at Telfer Place in Paris over the past ten years. Thank you as well to those who reached out in kindness and compassion during this difficult time especially Pastor Joel Sherbino of the Paris Presbyterian Church.
Helen has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Paris Presbyterian Church or Palliative Care, Brantford General Hospital.
Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at the Paris Cemetery at a later date.
