Jean Dorothy Black
After enduring health trials in her final years, Jean Black passed quietly from this life on Friday November 16, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Brantford, in her 97th year to return home to her Heavenly Father.
Jean was born April 20, 1922 in Lindsay, Ontario to Arthur (Archie) F. Russell and Rose Etherington Russell. She spent her youth in Lindsay. Jean married her sweetheart John (Jack) Louis Black in Fenelon Falls on October 12, 1939. They raised their family in Paris. Jean was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She embraced with love all who came within the circle of her family.
Jean was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She especially enjoyed teaching the children and serving in the women’s organization.
Jean is survived by their children; Marilyn (Jack) Sharpe, Brantford, Judie McDougall, Paris, John (Gloria) Black, Utah, Sheryl (Dale) Neves, Utah and James Black, Paris as well as 16 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Jack (1971), their parents, brothers and sisters. She was the last link to the preceding generation. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Friends may call at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris on Wednesday from 1-2 PM. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment Paris Cemetery
