Obituary for Jeffrey Michael "Jeff" Plumstead

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jeff on January 2, 2024, with his family at his side, due to heart issues. He was 67 years old.
Cherished husband to Barb. Loved brother to Don (Bernadette), and Peter (Jan), son-in-law to Clara and the late Ernie Wise, brother-in-law to Len (Mirella), Jeff, and Dianne. Much loved Uncle to Sarah (Allan), Charlotte, Andrew, Connor, Adam (Kate), Katie (Mike), Adrian, Nolan, Sonia (Donald), Jason, Bryan and Allison (Nathan). A beloved friend to all who knew him.
Born in Paris to Don and Mabel Plumstead, Jeff was a right-handed man who played left-handed golf. He was a man of integrity, compassion, and a loyal friend.

Jeff and Barb met in high school, and they were married in 1977. They moved from Paris to Vancouver in 1978, and discovered the beauty of the West Coast. They returned to Brant County in 1999, and made Paris their home in 2008. There they rekindled lifelong friendships, and Jeff enjoyed life with friends, family and neighbours. He remained Barb’s advocate, and her rock of support.

He will be sadly missed by his cherished cats – especially at treat time.

Jeff was interested in everything history, current events, and the arts. He was tremendously passionate about music, and his interests diverged across a wide range – Jazz, pop, rock and classical. He had great fun camping – despite the fact that every time he put up a tent it rained – and he was particularly known for his fire making skills. He enjoyed cooking, and his Caesar Salad was legendary.
Jeff was a notorious storyteller. He was a master of jocularity, and his quick wit always left the room laughing. That is what everybody is going to remember.
Cremation has taken place. Please join us for a celebration of this wonderful man on Thursday January 11, 2024, At The Dominion Telegraph Centre (Rivers Edge) 97 Grand River St. N. Paris from 1:00-4:00. Bring your stories and smiles – there will be opportunities to share favourite memories between 3-4.
