Exner, Joseph Thomas “Joe”
Passed away, peacefully, at St. Luke’s Place Cambridge, on Monday January 9, 2017, in his 91st year.
Beloved husband to Irene (nee Fritz); loved dad to Mike (Jackie); cherished Opa to Terry and Chelsey (Rick) and Great Opa to Evan and Parker; dear brother to Sophia Behling (Dennis) and Tom (Diana). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by a brother Milan and a son James in infancy.
Joe was born on Oct 15, 1926 in Dlha Luka CZ and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1936. He was a tinsmith by trade; he owned and operated the Canadian House Hotel in Paris, ON, he was a real estate agent and owned and operated Exner Construction (G.P.H. Home Builders and finished his working career with Steed and Evans Ltd. Joe was a long time member of St. Ambrose RC Church in Cambridge.
Cremation has taken place.
Friends are welcome to join the family at the Grand Valley Golf and Country Club 1910 Roseville Rd. Cambridge on Friday January 20, 2017 from 2-5 PM for a time of Celebration of Joe’s Life.
Donations to the Sun Life Financial Movement Disorders Research and Rehabilitation Centre (MDRC) – Wilfred Laurier University or St. Luke’s Place Cambridge would be appreciated by the family.
