With deep sadness we announce the passing of Sid, peacefully, on Monday January 3, 2022, at the age of 88 years. Sid was born in Halifax Nova Scotia to the late Sylvester and Marie Dixon. Survived by his loving wife Agnes of 68 years, and their children, Debra, Gary and Wendy and their families. Also survived by his nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all his nieces and nephews and his brother Murray of Brantford. Sid was a career soldier serving twenty-six years at home and abroad as a senior N.C.O. As part of Sid’s military life, he taught for four years at the recruit school. He was an avid sportsman and a senior hockey referee. He loved comedy and told many jokes. Sid retired in 1977 and then made Paris, Ontario his home for the past forty plus years. Sid will meet us all at the end of the rainbow. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Donations to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
