Obituary for Linda Jane Cochrane

Linda Jane Cochrane
Linda Jane Cochrane (nee Higgins) passed peacefully after stroke related complications at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on March 16, 2023, at the age of 77 years. Cherished wife of Gordon Cochrane, loving mother to daughter Leigh Ann Jones (Robert) and to son Arnie Cochrane (Elizabeth Dorner); much loved grandmother to Griff and Gage Jones. Sadly missed by her sister Elizabeth Rehder (the late James). Predeceased by her parents Thomas Higgins and Kathleen (nee Wilson) as well as by her sisters Patricia Winter and Kathleen Freeborn. Born in Paris, Ontario, Linda dearly loved all of her family. Her cherished grandsons, as well as her nieces and nephews, remember growing up with the outgoing, fun-loving Grandma/Aunt Linda who would often sing, dance, and laugh. Throughout her life she provided invaluable generosity and support to her treasured husband, kids and their spouses, grandchildren, and beloved sisters. She was also diligent about staying connected to all of her extended family - nieces, nephews, and cousins alike. Working in accounting and bookkeeping for much of her time, she spent several years with the office of the Canadian Open Golf Championship. Beginning in 1985 she, along with her husband Gord, took the leap of faith to build White Oaks Golf Club and Driving Range which they ran successfully until its closure in 2015. She will be greatly missed. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses who tended to her at the Oakville Hospital. A Celebration of Life memorial gathering will be held at Wm. Kipp Funeral Home 184 Grand River Street North, Paris, Ontario, on Saturday April 15th from 1-4 p.m. Interment at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Paris will take place on a later date.
