Mary Ellen “Marzie” Hilliker
Mary Ellen Hilliker (nee Durling), known as Marzie to family and friends passed away at Brantford General Hospital, Brantford, Ontario on March 2, 2023, at the age of 80 years. Cherished wife to the late Gary Hilliker (2018). Loving mother to her sons Gary Hilliker and Monty Hilliker (Donna Birley); much loved grandmother to Mary Kate Hilliker. Sadly, missed by her sister-in-law Sharon Durling (the late Jimmy Durling) and brother-in-law Bob Force (the late Dora Durling) and extended family and friends. She was like a grandmother to Amethyst Cavilier. Predeceased by her parents, Norman and Mildred Durling (nee Howell); as well as her siblings Jimmy Durling, Dora Force, and Ruthie King (Francis).
Born in Woodstock, Marzie worked as a book keeper for many years at various companies. She was one of the founding members of 4 Sirius Beaders, a joyful pastime that she taught to so many. For many years she was the Pastor of Toronto Spiritualist Temple, Brantford branch. Marzie married her best friend, Gary in 1960 and they had a long, loving marriage. Marzie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, visiting cottages, playing euchre, boardgames, swimming, and singing around the campfire. Many lasting memories were made at these gatherings. She loved her family and was always there for them. Remember her with a smile.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life, and interment at Burgessville Baptist Cemetery to follow at a later date.
