Obituary for Rickey Graham "Rick" Shannon

Shannon, Rickey Graham “Rick”
PFD 23
It is with heavy hearts we share Rick’s passing, peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday April 7, 2024, a lifelong resident of Paris, in his 70th year.
Rick was happiest when he was able to give of himself through Coaching Baseball and Hockey in Paris, Ayr and Burford, promoting the players and enjoying so many friendships along the way. The most important to him was giving back to his community as a volunteer Firefighter in Paris for over 40 years. Rick was a member of Branch 29 Royal Canadian Legion.
He loved riding the Harley with the guys and going for a truck ride with his dogs. He was a respected coach and mentor in Minor and Junior Hockey locally and a true sports enthusiast, especially cheering on his family.
Beloved husband and best friend to Heather (nee MacRae) for 47 years; loved Dad to Darcy (Patti), Brooke, and Darryl (Erin) and the late Ashley in infancy; devoted Grandpa to Kya, Ty, Dax, and Eugene; dear brother to Sherri Barber (Herby), Steve (Candy) Sabatine and Holly Sabatine; and brother-in-law to Brad MacRae (Diane), and the late Grant (2021). Cherished godfather to Leighanne Thompson. Also survived nieces and nephews and many friends.
Predeceased by his parents Nancy and Eugene Sabatine, his in laws Grace MacRae and Don MacRae and his sister Nancy Schwartz.
Friends may call at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday at 11:00AM. Interment Paris Cemetery.
