Robert (Bob) Cameron Wilson

Passed away peacefully at the Stedman Community Hospice, Brantford, ON, on Tuesday April 11, 2023, at the age of 95 years. Cherished husband to Inge Wilson (nee Thomsen) and formerly to the late Jean Ethel Wilson (2001). Loving father to Barbara Stairs (Gary) and Cheryl Wilson; Diana Jedig (Mark French), Gina Bailey (Brian Moynes), Erica Russell (John) and Barbara Jedig. Much loved grandfather to Kathryn (David), Richard (Melanie), Jeremy, Brandon (Tara), Brittany, Isaak and Will and great grandfather to Gavin and Addelyn; Tori and Carly; and Benjamin. Sadly, missed by sister-in-law Claire Wilson, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by his father Dr. Frederick Wilson and his mother Jean Wilson, as well as his brother Dr. Stewart “Duke” Wilson. As General Manager for the Brantford Public Utilities Commission, Bob was well known and respected in all the Utilities throughout Ontario for his involvement in hydro, water and transit-related organizations. He served on many boards including the American Water Works Association as the only Canadian member. Bob was very giving and generous with his time and served on several boards including Big Brother, Operation Lift and the Anti Vandalism Committee.
Bob also enjoyed many sports and was a member of the All Canadian Club where he played tennis and racquetball. He had a passion for down-hill skiing and skied in many places around the world, with his favorite being Switzerland. When Bob finished his work career he embarked on his final career, the fulfillment of his long-time dream, to build his own sailboat and sail the oceans. In keeping with Bob’s wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris, on April 22, 2023, from 12 noon till 1 pm followed by a celebration of life in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm. The Service will be livestreamed.
