Obituary for Robert Archie Lockey

Robert (Bob)Lockey September 19th. 1931 to September 11th. 2023

Bob passed away surrounded by his loving family at his bedside at St. Joseph’s Life Care in Brantford. Beloved husband and best friend to Norma (Moore) for over 60 yrs.
Cherished Father to Brad (Celine) and Wendy Bouchard. Precious Papa to Jodie (Greg) Duesling and Sarah (Nick) Bouchard. Great Papa to Nora Grace Duesling. Brother In Law to Jim Moore and Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place to be followed by a Private Family Celebration of Life.

Bob always put family first and always quietly helped those in need. He always shied away from the Limelight. He wore many hats over his lifetime. When we met, he and his brother Bill owned and operated City Taxi in Brantford. We often chuckled as our favourite song was “I left my heart in San Francisco” but it should have been “I will be down to get you in a taxi honey” as he put a driver on his car in the daytime and he actually picked me up in his taxi in the evenings. Top sign and all.

Bob loved sports and was an avid golfer. He retired from Ultra Mar and for twenty-eight years we were snowbirds enabling him to play golf 12 months of the year. He enjoyed running a Men’s League for 170 snowbird golfers and always enjoyed a game of Bridge.

Our hearts are heavy, but we are so very grateful that he is now at peace and no longer suffering. Heaven has gained another Angel and he will live on in our hearts and in the precious memories he left behind.

Our family appreciates the respectful and loving care Bob received from the staff on Pine Trail at St. Joseph’s Life Care in Brantford. Memorial Donations are encouraged for St Joseph’s Life Care.
