Obituary for Spencer Elmes

Lloyd Spencer Elmes passed away peacefully at the Woodstock General Hospital on April 27, 2019 at the age of 101.
Predeceased by his first wife Marion (Baxter 1965), his parents Roy (1979) and Mary J (Hutchinson 1959), his brother Rupert (1997) and his wife Anna (Sparks 2006), sister Edith (1986).
Survived by his second wife Eleanor (Harrington), sons Keith and his wife Susan, Hugh and his wife Krista, Neil and his wife Monica; grandchildren, Enson, Korina, Garret, Alexander and Luke, nephew and nieces, step son Leonard Harrington, and his wife Maureen; step daughters Rosemary Mandeville and her husband Les and Bev McLean and her husband Shane. Spencer was a member of the Knox United Church, Ayr, lifelong supporter of the Drumbo Agricultural Fair as both a director and an exhibitor, past treasurer of the Townline Community Club and a former member of the Drumbo Men’s Choir. His entire life he operated a mixed farm on the 7th concession of Blandford/Blenheim township raising beef, hogs and producing maple syrup. He will be dearly missed by his family.
Friends may call at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris on Friday May 3, 2019 from 7-9 for Memorial Visitation. A Memorial Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Interment later Paris Cemetery.
The family extends its sincere appreciation to the Woodstock General Hospital for providing extraordinary care during his brief stay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Woodstock General Hospital, Richwood United Church or the Drumbo Agricultural Society.
