KOWALSKI, Terry
May 15, 1939 - February 24, 2019
Peacefully, at Stedman Hospice, Brantford, on Sunday February 24, 2019, with his wife Marilyn, step daughter Cathy and a grandson Aaron were with him at his transition.
Terry was father to Brad Kowalski (Kim) and Karen Rosenberger (Jeff) of Kitchener; step father to Cathy Voll and the late Bill Pigott (2018); Grandfather to Stephanie, Kristopher, and Kara and their spouses and children, Jocelyn Pigott (Tyler Sewell), Austin, Emily and Landon Pigott, Lindsey Zavitz (Jamie) and Aaron Voll (Lisa Henkel); great grandfather to Brooklyn and Colton Zavitz and Ellawyn Sewell. Also survived by; brothers in law Lawrie Slater (Ruth) and George Slater (Susan) and their families; a sister Janet and a brother Brent. Predeceased by his parents Grayce and Jack Kowalski.
Terry was a first generation Canadian, educated at Sacred Heart and St. Jerome’s in Kitchener. Worked at BF Goodrich for 9 years and then AIC Ltd/Continental Bank in 7 cities, returning to Kitchener in 1974. In 1985 he married Marilyn Pigott and in 1986 they moved to Nova Scotia for 5 years. Returning to Ontario, Terry was re-educated in Health Care Field working with clients who required custom orthotics, retiring in 2016.
In his early years, Terry loved to hunt, fish, hike, garden and cook. He had passion for cooking, creating his own recipes. In the last 12 years, he developed a new love for Opera with Live at the Met. Terry was a past member of the Masonic Lodge, Royal Arch, and Eastern Star. He was on the Board of his Condo, the Board of Brant County Probus Club and the Board of Bethel United Church. Terry volunteered for the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and Christian Gleaners.
Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris, on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. A Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 1:00 PM with Rev. Adrianne Robertson officiating. Interment later Annan Cemetery, Owen Sound. In lieu of flowers, donations to Bethel Stone United Church or Stedman Community Hospice would be appreciated.
