Obituary for Timothy Gordon "Tim" Lyons

Timothy Gordon Lyons passed away on Saturday, January 30th, 2021. He was 71 years old.
Tim was born on November 25th, 1949, in Winkler, Manitoba. He lived in Manitoba for most of his young life before moving with his wife, Gail, to Port Ryerse, Ontario to raise his three children.
If you knew Tim Lyons you loved him. It was impossible not to. He was genuine and sweet. He asked questions and listened to the answers. He cared and he loved absolutely. His passion for people matched his passion for golfing, which is really saying something.
Tim was also an avid fisherman and spent many quiet mornings casting out into the creeks and lakes of the surrounding area, sometimes landing a big one, sometimes not, but always enjoying the serenity of small town life.
In addition to being a sportsman, he was a phenomenal artisan, creating beautifully crafted wood carvings in his woodshop or doing beautifully rendered pencil drawings. Tim loved to give his creations away as gifts. He was a man who created beauty and then shared it with the world.
Tim left so much of himself in the hearts of his children, all three of whom adored him. His contribution to his children’s lives was one of his greatest accomplishments and he took every opportunity to let them know that.
Our condolences to those of you who knew and loved him. Our condolences also to the Toronto Maple Leafs, who just lost their biggest and most overwhelmingly supportive fan. Go Leafs.
Tim is survived by his wife, Gail Lyons (Whitehead); his daughter, Kelle Lyons-Courage and her spouse, Paul Galbraith; his son, Casey Lyons, his spouse, Maria Rosario Picardal-Lyons and their children, Beatriz and Walter; his daughter, Perrin Forward, her spouse, Mark Forward and their child, Elliott; his sister, Claire Wiklund (Lyons), her spouse, Kim Wiklund, and their children, Wayne Wiklund & Family and Keri Wilson & Family; his niece, Katheryne Lumgair & Family; his nephew, Jeremy Lumgair & Family; his brother in law, Hugh Lumgair; and his brother from another mother, Barry Smout.
Tim was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Lyons (Dugdale) and father, Harold Lyons; nephew Ryan Wiklund and his sister Lee Lumgair.
There will be no funeral service as he would have hated the thought of a room full of his friends and family being upset. A gathering will be held at a later date when we can all be together to celebrate Tim properly.
