Obituary for Verna L. Westman

Westman, Verna Loreen
In memory of the beautiful, enduring spirit of Verna Loreen Westman.
“Her smiles, her sweet and charming way, Turn clouds to sunshine, night and day.”
On February 20, 1918, the world met Verna Loreen Westman (nee Buck).
With her family at her side, Verna peacefully passed on January 18th, 2016. Pre-deceased by loving husband Russell and son Chuck. Survived by her sons Wayne (Gladys) and Grant (Loretta). Verna was cherished by her grandchildren Joanne (Colin and children Maggie and Austin), Trisha (Lawrence and children Kai, Quinton and Jarett), Steven (Angela and children Jessica and Nicole), Julie (Mike and children Alexandra and Jack), Lisa (José and children Isabela and Erik), Samantha (Joshua) and Jessica. Pre-deceased by parents Charles and Pearl Buck of Keg Lane and siblings Roscoe, Carl, Ernest, Melbourne, Robert and Margaret Stewart.
Verna’s love of life brought a sparkle to those who crossed her path. She didn’t stray far from Keg Lane, raising her family and working in Princeton. Her life story was an adventure: many bike rides to her 27 year career at the Frank Cowan Company; thousands of legendary pies and goodies; decades of honing her green thumb; intrepid camping trips; many piano melodies and twirls on the dance floor.
