William Urquhart
Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1941, peacefully passed away, with family by his side at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Saturday September 23, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of 54 years to Margaret (nee Gilmour) whom he met at the Galt Burns Club in 1967. Forever remembered by his daughters Fiona Stroud (Dale) and Joanne Hertel (Matt). A proud Grandpa to Derek.
Sadly missed by his friends and family in Scotland.
Predeceased by his mother Annie Urquhart of Galt. (nee Waldie)
Bill happily owned his painting and decorating business for over 40 years. He was a member of the Cambridge Shriners Club in which he served as president in 2006 as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 121 Galt. In his spare time, he was an avid sports enthusiast curling, bowling, playing baseball, swimming and golf. A huge fan of the Green Bay Packers. At home he loved to do his magic around the BBQ grill. Most of all he loved his family and will be dearly missed. Bill's family is gratefully thankful of the homecare he received over the past years especially from Claudia and Samantha as well as the CMH nurses and doctors.
As per Bill’s request, cremation has taken place and no visitation or funeral services will take place at this time. Donations to a local charity of your choice in Bill's name would be appreciated.
