MacDONALD: - Allen
At Telfer Place, Paris on Sunday, November 8, 2009; Allen MacDonald of Paris in his 89th year; beloved husband for 53 years of Edna Maddeford; dear father of the late Lorne MacDonald (Feb. 26, 2009); loved uncle of many nieces and nephews; also predeceased by parents Archibald and Helen MacDonald, brothers Angus and Jack MacDonald, and wonderful friend of the late Mark McDonald (1982). Allen was a member of the Paris Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years serving as Fire Chief and Fire Inspector for 7 years. He served four years in the Army during the Second World War and was a former employee of Trailmobile, Brantford. Al was active in sports including curling, bowling and lawn bowling and was a longtime New York Yankees fan. Friends will be received at the Wm. KIPP FUNERAL HOME, 184 Grand River Street North, Paris on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Joel Sherbino of Paris Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment Paris Cemetery. A Legion service auspices Branch 29 will be held Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Donations in Al's memory may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
