Passed away peacefully, at home in Paris, with loved ones on Friday May 30,, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 60 years.
Caroline was born in Rochdale, England on May 9, 1954 and was the second child to Kenneth and Jeane Legge. She married John Hughes in Rochdale, England in 1977, and then relocated to Paris, Ontario in 2001. Caroline was an avid gardener, golfer, lover of History and an eternal optimist for family and friends. She is survived by her son, Alun Hughes and his wife, Natalie Hughes, her loving husband John Hughes, her sister Christine Legge, her brother Ian Legge, and her parents Kenneth and Jean Legge. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Caroline’s wonderful spirit and joy in life will be held at St. James Anglican Church (8 Burwell St) Paris on Wednesday June 4, 2014 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Ronald McDonald House.
