At Brantford General Hospital with family at her side on Friday, March 11, 2011; Doris Jean Lyons of Ayr, in her 93rd year; wife of the late Roy Lyons (1991) and the late Thomas Linton (1978); beloved mother of Mary Miller of Ayr, Fred Lyons of R.R. 4 Bright and Bruce Lyons of Brantford; Grandma Doris of Sherry (Mike) Eedy, Dwayne (Stacy) Lyons, Jodie McCusker and Terrence McCusker; Great Grandma Doris of Braedan and Owie Lyons; sister of Helen (Harold) Holtzworth and Ruth (Ron) Haack; and sister-in-law of Hilda Hilderley; also survived by nieces and nephews; predeceased by daughter Sharon McCusker, son Harry Lyons, sisters Edith (Rudy) Schmuck and Marion, and brothers Stuart, Russell and Howard Hilderley. Doris was a Life Member of the Ayr Lawn Bowling Club, an avid knitter and involved with 3 senior groups. Friends will be received at the AYR CHAPEL, Wm. KIPP FUNERAL HOME, 183 Northumberland Street, Ayr on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Knox United Church, Ayr on Thursday, March 17 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Doris' memory may be made to Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association.
