We are very sorry to hear about your loss. From our family to yours, our most heartfelt sympathies. As a child, the memories of being "on the farm" in the summer time are yet, so vivid and warm.!! My Mom, Edith Young, my Dad, Vern, sister Shirley, Carol and baby brother Frankie headed out from Sudbury to spend most of the summer on the farm. My what fun we had, music, laughter, big gangs of people.... and the food!! We helped out Grandpa and Grandma Barker with all the summer work. I would love to stay with Ena and Bud, and their babies; Carol would go to Aunt Margarets and Shirley would go to stay with the Schells. What wonderful family times we had. The best rememberance I have with Eddy was when we decided to take a ride in the manure spreader. It was at the top of the little incline by the water trough, near the barn, and he gave the heavy iron manure spreader a little push and jumped on. Well, we tried to steer it with the tongue but it didn't work too well so we careened down the incline and it is a wonder the whole thing didn't turn over on us... We laughed and laughed. We also used to go and play in the hay in the loft... sliding down from the very top of the hay pile to the bottom... We used to have to go to "the woods" to bring in the cows. On a cold morning, we loved to put our feet in a nice warm cow pie.... oh my gosh, can you imagine...!! What fun we used to have, what mischief we used to get into. I'm so sorry that I live so far away, I would have liked to have been there with all of the family. I have wonderful fond memories of my Uncle Eddy... even though he was my age! God bless you all. We are thinking of you and Catherine at this sad time, Clay. Your dad left a family to be proud of--can there be a greater accomplishment in life? Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours.
