Childhood Cousins

My heartfelt sympathy to Elaine’s sons, her grandchildren, her family and the friends she leaves behind. Elaine, my family, my cousin and although our lives where not closely intertwined, I always felt a closeness, and often wondered how she was, I hoped and prayed for her good health and everything good, life has to offer. I have very fond memories of our childhood, when our families would gather at our grandparent’s home on Sherboune Street for those special occasions, Easter, Christmas Day and sometimes on a Sunday for dinner. Decked out in our Sunday best, whatever the occasion, we were told to stay clean! LOL We’d play in that big old house, played chopsticks on Nana's piano, we'd hit the backyard to Nana’s four-seater swing, we'd giggle at the dinner table, and yes, we’d received a scolding from time to time. I was always excited to learn when we’d visit our grandparents’ that she and Paul would be there. Then life moved on and our families distant. In my early teens, and Elaine close behind me, we connected when our beloved grandmother, passed in 1980, the loss of her brother John Paul and her mom, how we loved and still miss them. As we grew older, marriage, children and distance, sadly as adults, we couldn't find the away to keep in touch, strange how some families become estranged. We suffered the loss of more family members, we’d connect, once again. Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with Elaine and her sister Elaine :o), shortly after the passing of her father, we agreed to keep in touch…sadly, now we're faced the ultimate separation. Overwhelmed, by beautiful heartwarming comments written on Elaine’s FB, I regret, never knowing this amazing woman. Taken too soon, until we meet again, rest in peace my dear cousin…much love, Debra <3<3
