Life Story for Emerson Bates Pottruff

POTTRUFF - Emerson Bates
Peacefully, At Brantford General Hospital on Monday April 5, 2010, of Paris, and formerly of Drumbo and Ayr, in his 91st year. Loved uncle of Nelson (Louise) McCoy of Dartmouth, NS, and Carolyne (Bill) Wamsley of Sault Ste Marie and their families. Emerson will be sadly missed by several cousins. Predeceased by his parents Norman and Hattie Pottruff, a baby brother Ross (1920) and his sister Norma McCoy (1977). He was a member of the IOOF Harmony Lodge and was recently honoured with his 60 year pin in Princeton. Emerson farmed in Bethel and Ayr areas. After he sold the farm, he moved to Paris and worked for Eillers Co. and Brant Electronics Supply . When he retired, he moved to Maple Grove Apartments in Drumbo for about 18 years, before moving to Park Lane Terrace. He was active in the local United Churches where he lived and had many friends.
Cremation has taken place. Friends will be welcomed to the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris on Friday April 16, 2010 from 10-11 AM. A IOOF Service under auspices of Harmony #115 will be held at 11:00 AM with Memorial Funeral Service to follow with Rev. Eloi Gunn of Willis United Church Drumbo officiating.
