McDONALD, Ernest John
In his 71st year, peacefully passed away at Brantford General Hospital on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 following a brief illness. He is survived by his daughter, Leigh-Anne and husband Doug Sholtis, his long-time spouse of 26 years, Rosemarie Newstead (nee Burke); step-children Daryn Elliott, Sandra O’Neill, and Regan Elliott; and grandchildren Breanna Sweers (Elliott), and Meghan and Ryan O’Neill, who he loved and adored; as well as his sister, Karen, several nieces and nephews, and Murphy the cat. He was predeceased by son Mark in 1982. A life time resident of Paris and a Massey-Ferguson retiree, he spent his golden years as an active youth soccer Gramps. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at Paris Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brant County SPCA are appreciated to support his love of animals. A special thank you to the nursing staff at Branford General, and to Drs. McDonald and Rooney for their special care and kindness over the last several weeks. Online condolences or donations may be arranged through www.wmkippfuneralhome.com or by contacting Wm. A special angel, forever in our hearts, watching over us.
