Condolence From: Louise Praught
Condolence: Bob, Ben, Stu and Meghan, Lynn, Mary and Doug -
My deepest condolences to you all. Heather was my best friend in grades 1-4 (when I moved away). I remember her so fondly, so often. I'm sorry this is late, I just discovered Heather's passing today.
I've kept up with her journey and Hootenannies over the years and know how special she was. I cherish my memories of her, as I'm sure you cherish yours. She was truly a remarkable woman.

Condolence: Like my wife Anne who fought a courageous battle against ovarian cancer for 5 years before passing, Heather was an inspiration to all. There are no words that describe the pain of such a loss and only time can help you and the kids heal. Take comfort in the love and care of friends and family. We wish you all the very best.

Condolence From: Tracy Aikema-Robb
Condolence: I know it is a difficult time, and my condolences go out to you and your family.

From the time we meet your mom, and all that i have read about her, she was very much like my mom. They both battled this disease with dignity and were an inspiration to everyone they met. They made sure to enjoy every day!! They also made it their goal to bring much need awareness as well as funds to help find a cure for ALS.
I could not say it better than my dad (in message before). It is not an easy time and we understand what your family is going through.
Even though your mothers walk on this earth is done, I'm certain that she is in heaven with my mom doing alot of talking, as well as singing and dancing.
Our thoughts and prayer are with you and you family in this difficult time.

Condolence From: Gary Aikema and Family
Condolence: Dear Bob and Family
I was just made aware of the passing of Heather. She indeed was a wonderful person. Her zest for life even when afficted by the debilitating effects of ALS was amazing.
My wife Corinne's journey with this disease mirrored Heather's, She also passed away at the end of February having lived with ALS for 6 years. She got to know Heather at the Hootenanny's and shared Heather's love for music, loved to dance and touched many people. Corinne also was involved in fund raising in the Hamilton area and saw it as a mission to defeat ALS. I know how you feel at this time and it's tough but I am sure those two ladies are enjoying themselves up there.

Condolence: Bob,Stu,Meg,Ben and Alicia;
Life deals us many challenges and this one is particular hard for all of you. The loss of a wife,a mother and a friend to so many-makes us realize how fragile life is,and sensitizes us to the obligation we have to live life to it's fullest,to support one another,to take the time to enjoy the blessings, past, present and future.
Your strong family and community ties got you this far,and will continue to bring you strength to deal with this immense loss and sadness.
Heather was a remarkable person and will never be forgotten.
To you and all your family. To the McRuer family especially Lynn,Mary,Doug and extended family, I extend my sincere condolences.

Condolence: We were very sorry to hear of Heather's passing. We have so many memories of her growing up. When Heather tried out for a sport, it never failed, it seemed she always made the team...and she certainly deserved it. Drumbo Central School would not have been what it was without her contributions... It seemed that everything she touched she did well at. Losing Heather at such a young age certainly reminds us to appreciate each day as it comes and tell those around us how much they mean to us and keep reminding them that this world is what it is because of those near and dear to us.. Our most sincere condolences to Heather's dear husband and children, Doug and Lynn and especially to you Mary...my dear, dear friend... Love, Myra, Mark and children

Condolence: It has been several years since running into Heather and I remember thinking then how wonderful a person she was. A aura of true beauty surrounded her and it was obvious it came from within. What I remember from childhood years was a happy young girl full of life and smiles.
There are many memories from Drumbo School Days, Barb driving us to one game or another, being with the McCruer family and those were times remembered fondly.
My deepest sympathy and prayers for Heather's husband and children, Lynn, Mary, Doug.
