BEACOCK, Jean (nee Bethune)
Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Brantford General Hospital, on Saturday February 14, 2015, a long time resident of Paris, in her 92nd year.
Beloved wife to the late William “Bill” (2009) for 62 years; Loved mother to Thomas (Susan), and Betty (Alan Hall); cherished Nanny of Brian (Holly) & Allen Beacock and Scott Dion (Ainsley Schram), and Great Nanny to Ava & Olivia Beacock and Avery Dion; dear sister to Jim (the late Frances) and Wilfrid (Judy). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Donald and Eliza Bethune; sisters, Beatrice Howes (Dave) and Lorraine (Bill Riddell & Reg Hutchinson), and brothers, Don Bethune (Mary), Norm Bethune (Muriel), Albert Bethune, Harold Bethune (Marg & Hendrika), and Herb; and her lifelong friends Bernice & Ed Martin.
Jean was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Paris and an active member of the CWL. Jean was a wonderful friend to many; she was especially talented at baking specialty birthday cakes. Jean was a great story teller especially regarding her childhood days in a home with nine siblings; where music and playing cards was common place. She had a wonderful sense of humour throughout her life. She was a loyal Toronto Maple Leaf Fan.
Friends and family will be received at Wm. Kipp Funeral Home 184 Grand River St. N. Paris on Wednesday February 18, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM with parish prayers being held at 8:45PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart RC Church, (17 Washington St. Paris) on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Father Michael Bennett celebrant.
Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Paris.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Canadian Diabetes Association. Special thanks to Dr. John McDonald and his staff for all the support given to Jean.
