Selinger, Katherine (Katie)
In her 89th year and surrounded by her family, Katie passed away on February 27, 2016 at the John Noble Home, Brantford.
Beloved wife of the late Al Selinger (1997) and dearest mother of Faith and Al Bonfini of Jerseyville, Colleen and Clarence Miller of Paris, Bruce and Laura Selinger of Brantford and Allan and Susan Selinger of Listowel.
Cherished Grossmom of Alexander, (Tara), Melina, Lucas, Ammie, (Kevin), Gregory, (Katrina), Casandra, (Mike) Alicia (Ryan), Stehpan (Jamie), Katarina, Bruce, and Allison. Much-loved “GG” to Paxton, Claire, Jason, Aspen, Damon, Evan and Atlas.
Katie was predeceased by parents Gregor and Paulina, brothers Phil, Frank, Roy and sisters Katharina, Rosalie and Elizabeth, Brothers –in-law Chic, Florian and Sisters-in-law Lizzie and Marilyn. She will be sadly missed by her brothers Harry and John, Sister-in-laws Lila, Mary, Pauline and many nieces’ nephews and friends.
In 1957, Al and Katie opened their first Dental Lab. She worked as the Dental Lab Technician, Receptionist, Bookkeeper, Administrative Assistant and Manager of Customer Service. She did it all. In 1970 they opened Selinger’s Denture Clinic. Katie continued to work by Al’s side in the Clinic until he passed May 27, 1997 at the age of 68. Son Bruce was a partner in the business and continues to run the clinic. Katie worked with Bruce until 2012. She loved her work, enjoyed being busy and was highly skilled in her craft.
Our Mother was kind, thoughtful, generous and loving. Family, reading, bowling, and bingo were her favourite past times. She always shied away from the limelight, however even when her memory was almost gone, her great sense of humour and feisty spirit drew people in. She did not need to be in the lime light – she was the light.

And special gratitude to Mary, Terri, Barb and Lesley for the loving care you gave to Mom in her own home for 3 years. Because of you, we were able to bask in her light just a bit longer.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on Saturday March 5, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Michael Bennett celebrant. A Reception will follow at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Day and Stay Program at the John Noble Home would be much appreciated.
