RUTHERFORD - Lillian Angusina (Lil)
After a brief illness, at her home on Friday, March 7, 2008; in her 94th year; predeceased by her husband Bill (1987); cherished mother of Ian (Linda), Connie, and Rod (Laurie); grandmother of Stephanie (Tom) and Eric; and beloved G.G. of Jennifer Lily; also predeceased by brother John Buchanan, and sisters Sheila (Russ) Chessum and Connie (Ian) McCullough. Mom, the daughter of Annabelle and Bill Buchanan, was born in Galt but grew up in Winnipeg. She moved to Paris in the thirties as a legal secretary and except for a stint in the RCAF during the Second World War, she continued with the same firm (various lawyers) until 1981 when it was Tarrison and Hunter. Mom also owned and helped operate Rutherford's Feed and Seed until its closure in 1997. She was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29, Paris where she served as Secretary for 18 years. Around Town, Mom participated in activities such as golf, curling, euchre, bowling, Bridge Club and most of all a good laugh. According to her fervent wish, immediate cremation and no funeral service. You may donate to the Legion Poppy Fund, any Diabetes or Kidney charity, or one of your own choosing.
