Mentor and friend

I’ll always cherish our time working together at Meals on Wheels and all that she taught me. The office won’t be the same at all without her. She was my mentor and my friend, and inspired me daily. She was so strong and took on anything without fear. Her kindness and witty sense of humour made a lasting impression on all staff and volunteers. She was nurturing and caring, always looked after everyone, always checked in on me to see if I needed help with anything. She always had stories about her family, you could tell she was really close to them and loved them very much. I will always remember all the good times we had at the office; we always found time to laugh and had our running jokes. After Easter she would bring in little toy chicks that we would hide around our coworkers desk for him to find randomly. I always made us tea when I knew she was busy and she would call me ‘the tea fairy’. I was always careful of what work I picked up off her desk because as she always reminded me “ if you touch it, you do it”.  She always gave me great advice about everything, about work and in life. Her dedication to the community and helping people was trurly amazing.

I will think of her often and remember the irreplaceable role she played not just at Meals on Wheels but in all our lives.
