Life Story for Marie "Marie" Poland (Duncan)

Peacefully and with dignity, after a brief illness, at Stedman Community Hospice, Brantford on Thursday, May 3, 2007; a longtime resident of Paris, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Melvin Poland (1992); loved mother of Anne of Quebec, Carol of Calgary, AB and Bruce of Paris; "special mother" to Brenda; extended family to Jeff and Vanessa Berry and Sharon McCorkindale; cherished grandmother of Deana (Andrew) Vellenga, Jennifer (Tyler) Brooks and Johnathon (Butch), Christopher and Catherine Mogensen; and 2-gram to 5 great grandchildren; sister of William (Sibyl) Duncan and sister-in-law of Jeanne Duncan (the late Raymond Duncan) of Outlook, Saskatchewan.
Marie was active with Paris Home and School and Paris I.O.D.E., longtime member of St. Paul's United Church, Paris Lioness, Paris Curling Club and her Girls Bridge Group.
Friends may call at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul's United Church (48 Broadway St. W. Paris) on TUESDAY at 1:00 PM with Rev. Lee Haughton officiating. Interment Paris Cemetery
