McCormick, Mary Gladys (née Smith) - Jan. 6, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Ernest (1996). Mother to Jane Christensen (Glen), Robert (Jane), David, and Scott (Pamela); adoring grandmother to Andrew Johnson and Emma Christensen, Lincoln, Rhiannon (Chris) Woo, Athena (Michal) Oderco, Wesley, Victoria, Duncan, and David McCormick, Alexandra and Aleah McCormick, Maggie Kathleen, and Matthew McCormick, Maggie Ruth and Beth Wilson-Wong, and Great grandchildren Lily and Annabelle Woo, and Ernest Oderco and Mya, Nathan and Sophia
Predeceased by her parents Kathleen (Pickard) and James Smith, her brothers, Clarence and John Smith and sisters, Helen Minshall, Margaret Sowler, Edna Johnson, Donna Vukson and Agnes Smith, Daughter in law Eunice McCormick, her grandchildren Adrian & Luke McCormick and sister in law Jean Innes.
Mary grew up in Ingersoll and worked at Morrows during WWII, she graduated from Westervelt College where after she worked at banks in both Ingersoll and Brantford for many years. Mary dedicated her life to raising her children and to loving and caring for all of her grandchildren. She always enjoyed any time spent with her family and friends and some of her favourite activities were ice skating with Ernest, and picnics on the farm. She enjoyed feeding the many birds that would visit her backyard and she would always look after any animals. She was a kind and caring woman who was an amazing role model for all of her children and grandchildren.
Mary found great strength in her faith and had many favourite hymns and psalms.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the caring staff at Stirling Heights Long Term Care Centre, Cambridge and Tranquility Place, Brantford.
Friends will be received at the Wm, Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris, on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11:00 AM. Interment Paris cemetery.
