Obituary for Norman Lee Kelly

KELLY, Norman Lee
A bright light has dimmed peacefully and quietly at Brantford General Hospital on January 1, 2015, in his 89th year. Beloved husband and sweetheart of the late Yvonne “Babs” Kelly (2007 Nee Booth). Loving father of Heather (Bill Anderson); Maureen Spence; Jim (Kathy) and Mary Therese (Terry Layton). Cherished grandfather (aka Gpa) of Michael Capizzano (Caroline); Karen Stewart (Jason); Alicia Belina (Patrick); Matthew (Lindsay) and Sarah. Proud great grandfather of Nigel and Raquel Capizzano; Hannah and Maxwell Kelly; Bibianna and baby Belina and Owen Stewart.
Lovingly remembered by brothers Dr. B.A. (Bud) Kelly and wife Ruth; Mervyn James (Bill) Kelly and wife Elsie; sister in law Donna Wein and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Joan and brother-in-law Barry Walsh.
Born and raised in the Muskoka village of Baysville Ontario, Norm graduated from the University of Toronto in 1950 with a Masters of Applied Science. He worked as a chemical engineer at the Domtar Lime Division in Paris Ontario and retired from Carmeuse Lime Canada. A long time member of Sacred Heart Church Paris, Saint Kateri Church Baysville and the Knights of Columbus, Norm volunteered for many organizations including the Canadian Cancer Society, Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign and Meals on Wheels. His fudge was much sought after at the Sacred Heart Garden Party and Christmas Teas. He was a quiet philanthropist giving generously to numerous charities and organizations.
Special thanks to Dr. Benger, Wendy, the great people at the Juravinski Cancer Center and especially the caring staff in the Palliative Care Unit at BGH.
Friends may call at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River Street North, Paris on Tuesday January 6 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Parish prayers will be recited at 8:45 PM at the funeral home.
