Peacefully, at home, on Monday September 3, 2018, formerly of Drumbo, in his 86th year.
Beloved husband to the late Gail (nee Morrow -2012); loved father to Brian (Kathy), Mike (Barb), Kim Reiner (Bernie) and Wendy Hoskin; cherished grandfather to Amy (Craig), Amanda (Adam), Kristy (Chris), Tracy (Richard), Tyler, Corey, Courtney (Al), Katie (Luke) and Abbey and the late Mark; proud great grandfather to Owen, Kasey, Charlotte, Moses, Macrina, Meadow, Ellie, Cooper, Cohen, Theodore, Poppy, and Lincoln; dear brother to Betty Burgess (the late Don) and Jack (the late Gail). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Bill.
Bob started out his adult life tobacco farming with Gail in Windfall, with a short stint at Kelsey Hayes in Woodstock to help them get over the rough times. He spent a bigger part of his life living in the village of Drumbo and working as a Tax Clerk/Collector for the Township of Blandford-Blenheim before retiring at the age of 64. Bob was an honest, hardworking man with old fashioned values and work ethics. He played a serious game of pool with his friends at the old Drumbo Pool Hall and always had time for a good game of Euchre. Bob was a lifetime member of the Plattsville Masonic Lodge and took his time and duties there very seriously.
Cremation has taken place. Interment Windfall Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Drumbo Agricultural Hall (42 Centre St. Drumbo) on Thursday September 13, 2018 from 1-4 PM.
Donations to Sakura House, London Health Sciences Centre, or the Cancer Society would be appreciated.
