Life Story for Ruth Evelyn Stotesbury (Maier)

Stotesbury, Ruth E. (nee Maier)
Peacefully, at Grand River Hospital Freeport Health Centre, on Tuesday July 28, 2009, of Ayr and formerly of Richwood in her 88th year.
Born in Kitchener on April 12, 1922, daughter of Harry and Edith Maier. Beloved wife of 64 years to the late Victor (2007); loved mother to Lynn of Ayr, Bryan (Janice) of Kitchener, and Bruce (Katherine) of Ayr; cherished grandmother to Jason, Andrew, Theresa, David, Mark and Anne; dear sister to Gladys Brodie (Paul) of New Zealand and June Pagel (Paul) of California. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ruth and Victor settled in Richwood, ON, where she was the face of the Richwood General Store for many years, they later started VA Stotesbury Milk Transport. She was actively involved with Richwood UCW, Knox Church Ayr, Ayr Curling Club, Ayr Marathon Bridge Group, and St. George Art Group. In later years, she enjoyed traveling, visiting friends, playing cards and taking a scenic country drive.
Friends may call at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 183 Northumberland St. Ayr on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Services to be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Cremation to follow. Interment later Ayr Cemetery.
