I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Rowland through my friendship with Julie which started at the age of twelve. He was an amazing man and grandfather. Julie loved him very much and spoke of his great attributes often. Most teenagers would be embarrassed if their parents drove by the school, but not Julie. She was the first to point out that it was Gramps riding by on his moped waving!! He put up with a lot with a more than "average" teenager running around his house at the age of 80, but want we could see he often laughed it off. Even when we would take his car for joy rides and sneak Julie in and out of her bedroom window!! Mr. Rowland would just look at Julie with a little grin and we would know it was all okay. The special relationship between Julie and her grandfather was like no other and nobody can ever deny it. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Rowland for taking Julie in and loving her the way you did. I know she appreciated all you did for her and I am too. Gramps please continue to watch over Julie. She loves you so.
