Condolence From: Elayne Wardell
Condolence: I remember Dan from 2 different times in his life. One was as a grade 5 student of mine at North Ward School. That was a class to remember - super kids, everyone of them! When lettering something, the Art Department had shown us a method of drawing letters for a bulletin board, a chart or an assignment. You drew the letter backwards and when you cut it out, you had no pencil marks showing. It was wonderful! - except for one letter. This letter refused to be drawn backwards by 99% of the class! Only Dan, with his dyslexia, could draw that letter. As a result, he took on a new responsibility in our class- he was the one we all went to (teacher included), so that he could draw this letter for us. It was wonderful for us and he was very proud and rightly so of this new ability!
Dan also babysat our kids. They absolutely loved him! He was wonderful with young children and I always heard that Dan showed us this or Dan helped us with that. A very responsible and personable young man.

Condolence: Sorry I can't be there on Saturday. Yes, I remember cousin Dan as a kid at the Oak Ave house, running and hollering and full of trouble. Sneaking into the fair, as Joe says, and I also remember him driving sulkies in the junior races behind Chuck's horses, in silks Margaret made. Sorry to hear that he is gone. Thinking of Paris back in those times...

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear about Dan. We grew up and went to school together. While I spent most of my time with Donna, Dan was always a welcome presence. I will always remember him with a smile.
