Condolences

Condolence From: John Davis
Condolence: I hope I have this right, but Vince Westlake was the Station Chemist working for the CEGB at Nechells Coal fired Power Station in Birmingham, England in the 1960’s. He was my boss. My name is John Davis, I was a trainee industrial chemist. I visited Vince and Joan when they lived near Sutton Coldfield. Vince was a great friend and colleague.

Condolence From: John and Eleanor Dean
Condolence: Dear Joan and family,

Over the past years we had lost touch with Vince but you should know that he was always clearly in our memory. He will be remembered as a gentleman and very kind man who loved his family very much. He will be remembered by me/us as one of the most informed employees of Montreal Engineering and will be missed by all who had the great opportunity to meet and work with him.

Sincerely, John and Eleanor Dean

Condolence From: John Fair
Condolence: Dear Mrs. Westlake,
I don't believe we ever met but I worked with Vince off and on while he was in Calgary. I hadn't seen him for quite a few years now but heard that he has passed away from mutual friends.

Please accept my condolences on his passing. From the amount that I knew him, he was a gentleman and always friendly. There is no question he will be mourned by everyone who knew him.

God Bless you and your family in this difficult time.
John Fair

Let's go back to a day, any day, much like this one
though different.

It lay alone but not lonely, oiling itself and sunbathing.

It dozed, it slept, it dreamed.

And an old fellow called History shambled up and spoke to it.
It yawned and turned over.

And a little boy called the Future tripped over its legs and fell on the sand.
Go away, little boy, it mumbled. Go away.

But when the sun went down it woke and shivered and thought
Time to go home.
